Accessibility statement for Experia Innovations
This accessibility statement applies to the https://www.experia.co.uk/ website. It does not cover the shop website https://www.experia.co.uk/shop/.
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. We aim to meet at least Level A of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 - an internationally recognised set of recommendations for improving web accessibility.
You should be able to:
- Navigate the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software.
- Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including VoiceOver)
How accessible this website is
We aim to make this website as accessible and usable as possible for everyone. It is designed to meet WCAG 2.2 Level A and has been tested using automated tools, screen readers (such as VoiceOver) and manual keyboard-only navigation.
What works well
- Information, structure, and relationships are conveyed using semantic markup, allowing content to be programmatically determined. This passes WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 (info and relationships).
- Content is presented in a meaningful order, allowing the reading sequence to be programmatically determined. This passes WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.2 (meaningful sequence).
- All interactive functionality is operable via keyboard, allowing users to navigate links, forms, and controls without a mouse. This passes WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.1.1 (keyboard).
- Users can move keyboard focus to and from all page components using only the keyboard, ensuring no keyboard traps. This passes WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.1.2 (no keyboard trap).
- Sliders are paused by default and can be navigated manually using arrows, allowing users to control content movement. This passes WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.2.2 (pause, stop, hide).
- A “skip to main content” link allows users to bypass repeated page content. This passes WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.1 (bypass blocks).
- Web page titles describe topic or purpose. This passes WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.2 (page titled).
- Focus moves through interactive elements in a logical and meaningful order. This passes WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.3 (focus order).
- Focus does not cause unexpected changes of context. This passes WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.2.1 (on focus).
- User interface inputs do not trigger unexpected changes of context. This passes WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.2.2 (on input).
- Help links (Contact Us) are consistently located across pages. This passes WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.2.6 (consistent help).
- Required fields are identified with descriptive text and programmatic indicators. This passes WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.3.1 (error identification).
- Form labels are descriptive and positioned for predictability, ensuring users understand what information is required. This passes WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.3.2 (labels or instructions).
- All user interface components have programmatically determinable names, roles, and values. This passes WCAG 2.2 success criterion 4.1 (compatible).
Known limitations
The content listed below is non accessible for the following reasons.
- Images on some pages do not have suitable image descriptions. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text Content)
- PDFs have not been checked so may not be accessible
- Some videos contain spoken dialog but do not provide accurate captions. Users who cannot hear the audio cannot fully understand the content. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.2 (captions)
- Some videos are visual only and do not include a text description of the visual content. Users who cannot see the video cannot understand the information being presented. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.1 (audio-only and video-only)
- Some form fields indicate they are required using a visual star (*) only and hidden to assistive technologies. Users who cannot perceive visual cues, such as screen reader users or users with low vision, may not be able to determine which fields are required. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.3 (Sensory characteristics) and 1.4.1 (distinguishable)
- Some links do not clearly describe their purpose, making it difficult for users of assistive technologies to understand where the link will take them. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.4 (link purpose (in context)).
