Cookie Policy

Last updated: 3 September 2025

This Cookie Policy explains how Experia uses cookies and similar technologies on www.experia.co.uk. Read it together with our Privacy Notice.

What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. We also use pixels, local storage and device identifiers to remember preferences, understand how the site is used and deliver content. Cookies may be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by others, e.g., analytics/ads providers), and may be session (deleted on close) or persistent.

How we use cookies (consent)

Under PECR/UK GDPR, strictly necessary cookies can run without consent. All other cookies (analytics, functional, advertising) require your consent via our cookie banner/preferences centre. You can change choices at any time.

Types of cookies we use

  • Strictly necessary — security, load balancing, login, cart/checkout.
  • Functional — remember preferences, improve features (e.g., saved settings, chat).
  • Analytics — understand traffic and performance (pages visited, time on page). Set only with consent.
  • Advertising/retargeting — personalise/measure ads and social features. Set only with consent.

Examples you may see

  • First-party session cookies (e.g., session ID for cart/login).
  • Consent cookies recording your banner choices.
  • Analytics (e.g., GA4: _ga, _ga_*, _gid) — with consent.
  • Advertising (e.g., Google Ads: _gcl_au; Meta: _fbp) — with consent.

The exact list/lifespans depend on your CMP and services enabled.

Managing your cookie settings

  • Preferences centre: Use the banner or “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer to accept/reject or update choices.
  • Browser controls: Block/delete cookies via your browser settings.
  • Provider tools: Where available, use analytics/ads opt-out tools.
If you reject non-essential cookies, some features may not function as intended. We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals.

Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by third-party providers. They are responsible for their own cookies—see their notices (e.g., Google, Meta/Facebook, Hotjar, Vimeo/YouTube, A/B testing, CMP).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in cookies or the law. We’ll post updates here and refresh the “Last updated” date.
